SUPER LUXOR AND DENDERA (WITHOUT SHOPS)

Overview

The Temple of the Goddess Hathor in Dendera is one of the surviving late temples from the Hellenistic period. Hathor is a goddess in Egyptian mythology associated with the sky, love, femininity, beauty, and fertility. The walls, columns, and ceilings of the temple are covered with relief drawings. Dendera also houses the sanctuary of the goddess Isis, the protector of the home, faithful wife, and loving mother.

The funerary temple of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut is carved into the cliffs and consists of three terraced levels adorned with rows of statues and connected by ramps. Inside the temple, colorful frescoes depict gods and events from Hatshepsut's reign.
